RACING RECAP – WEEK ENDING APRIL 30 2016

BLACKBOOKERS

DOOMBEN

ARTLEE –

In a race dominated by on speed racers the stand out performer was Artlee with an eye catching run in the Victory Stakes. He made up plenty of ground in the straight to be beaten less than a length and will be much better suited over a longer distance. He will have another hitout over 1200m but the doomben 10,000 over 1350 looks ideal.

HAWKESBURY :

MACINTOSH –

Macintosh from the Chris Waller stable was the star of the show on the card at Hawkesbury. The lightly raced 3yo controlled the race in front and sprinted clear to win well and dust his rivals. Taking his record now to 3 wins from 5 starts he will be sure to be competitive in his next race which is likely to be in Queensland.

MELBOURNE:

REFULGENT –

The boxers tipped Charmed Harmony and he dutifully won however the run of Refulgent was excellent. Fast late sectionals leads us to believe he will be flying over longer and the Weir magic helps.

Look for him over 1800 – 2000m he is one to watch and believe you will get odds going forward.

KAYJAYS JOY.

The Hayes Dabernig polish was evident with this girl. The bookies had no idea as her odds moved from $12 to $4 back out to $7 and the old adage of the horse has no idea about odds rang true. She was very strong around the bend and just kept going. Next step is a 1200m race at Morphetville but really she has Brisbane in her sights.

ADELAIDE:

ZEBULON –

What a finish from this fellow having his first start in more than a year he was just outstanding. If he stays sound and is set for the right races we cant see anything beating him especially if he improves on this run. May never see a good price for him again though.

THE LAST WORD

The ShadowBoxers boy  Chautaqua was just outstanding once again after jumping out 4l last. Special mention to Tommy Berry – he had the big boy moving on the turn and just let go at the 300m mark and our boy did the rest. We keep saying one of the best sprint finishes but this time he was against some of the best in the world and he won quite easily in the end. Bravo.

We know money is tight but we thought the track at Hawkesbury was not up to scratch and after the 2nd race horses coming down the fence could have grabbed an ice cream on the way through to the finish line.

The Warnambool programme this week has been sensational thus far and the “Bool Cup” tomorrow should be interesting with the track at heavy 10.

The ShadowBoxers have selected our numbers for our supporters and those that take the time to read right to the bottom line !

So

Race 8 we like 4,14,2, 12.

4 – Falago

14 – Master of Arts

2 – Swacadelic

12 Mr Journeyman

and long shot Slivovitz (18)

Happy Punting and thanks for the support
